Zotefoams boosts product protection foams line-up with two new Plastazote® grades

Zotefoams plc, the world’s largest manufacturer of lightweight cross-linked block foams, has announced two new grades in its bestselling Plastazote® polyolefin foams range designed to improve efficiencies in product protection applications.

Plastazote, a low-density polyethylene foam range in the AZOTE® family, has set the standard for protection of products in transit, long-term storage and conservation applications for decades due to its light weight, aesthetic qualities, excellent impact resistance and compatibility with a wide range of processing techniques. Plastazote products continue to meet the most demanding industry regulations, including stringent military standards.

Lightweight Plastazote foams have been engineered to offer superior performance and the range includes a wide variety of grades and densities, such as industry-recognised LD45BK and LD29BK, as well as different cell sizes from fine (LD24) to coarse (LD18) to match different application requirements.

Recent capacity investments have enabled Zotefoams to introduce a new grade specifically targeted at product protection applications in transit, conservation and storage, where its dimensions will optimise yield. LD29ABK is a variation of best-selling grade LD29BK and is available as a 2000x1200x53mm sheet and a 2000x1200x102mm block. With a density of just 29kg/m³ and a consistent cell size of 0.8mm its impact resistance properties maximise protection of goods, whether on the move or in storage.

Also new is packaging grade LD30LX ideal for product display and optimum presentation. Offering a soft touch and fine cell size of just 0.4mm LD30LX guarantees the aesthetic appeal and ultimate product protection required for luxury goods.

Recognised for its innovative, environmentally friendly manufacturing process, Zotefoams foams are constructed by a unique, nitrogen expansion technology that produces odourless, consistent foams of the highest quality in a range of densities and a wide choice of colours. AZOTE foams can be routed cleanly to produce the most complex of shapes, are equally suitable for waterjet cutting or even thermoforming, either by compression or vacuum moulding, and continue to be the lightest closed cell foams available.

Zotefoams Group CEO, David Stirling, comments, “Product protection is a key market for Zotefoams and we are delighted that – thanks to capacity investments in the UK and USA, as well as the forthcoming opening of a new site in Poland – we are able to offer these new grades, which meet the performance, efficiency and aesthetic requirements of our customers.”
