Savannah Poynter

Background:

Savannah joined the Zotefoams Inc., USA business in December 2010 in a temporary six-month accounting role, but officially joined as a permanent employee in June 2011, and she has been with the business since then.

She was promoted to an Accountant role in September 2014 where her job involved accountancy and business support for the three US entities (Zotefoams Inc. MuCell Extrusion, and Zotefoams Midwest), plus some of her previous administrative duties. 

In March 2022, Savannah decided to take her career in a completely different direction, when she expressed an interest in joining Human Resources as the team was then looking for a support person.

Walton Head of Human Resources Melissa Ownbey says: “I snatched her up. Through her own commitment to learning and growing, she prepared and sat for her PHR (Professional Human Resources) Certification.”

She was appointed as a Human Resources Specialist. Then, during 2022 and 2023, she continued to grow by shadowing Melissa and was rewarded with a promotion to Human Resources Generalist in April 2024.

“She now owns most of the payroll and benefit administration,” says Melissa. “She is a quick study and a gem to work with – she can always be counted on to deliver.”

Savannah also holds a BA (Bachelor of Arts) in Education from the University of Kentucky and a JD (Juris Doctor – a professional graduate degree in law) from Florida Coastal School of Law.

What do you like about working at Zotefoams?

“The people, culture, and working in HR which allows you to do something new almost every day.”

What do you like to do when you are not working?

“Going to concerts and sporting events, traveling, and spending down time with my husband (Brandon) and two cats (Julian & Davey).”
